of showers still from anne arundel, annapolis up toward baltimore. going into the 80s today. we'll watch for storms this afternoon. let's check in with monika at 5:00 a.m. she's watching for traffic. >>> there's a fallen tree on beach drive. it's closed it joyce and bladden. in the meantime, let's take a look at our interstates. northbound i-95 you'll begin to see early volumes today. terrible traffic tuesday. we've been telling thu all morning. through woodbridge right now you're still okay through the occoquan river. a bit of volume forming here in springfield. let's show what you it looks like on the northbound side. yesterday of course was labor day and it was much lighter than this. so keep that in mind. tack on at least an extra 5 to 10 minutes to your commute this morning. let's take another look at our maps. this time we'll go to the bw parkway and route 50 through cheverly. you'll be okay. no problems on route 50 coming in from annapolis to the beltway and the prince george's county side of the beltway is incident free right now. here's 270 southbound coming down from father hur

, still wet. that rain going into baltimore and areas up around i-83. seeing the showers dwindle and dry up just off to the south and west. throughout the day today, getting warm scattered showers and embedded heavier rains around the area. the moisture that's in the air right now, it's got big potential. it could rain somewhere around one to two inches per hour. so when we get those downpours around the area we could see some isolated flooding. 3:00 today, some storms possible, too, as we get into the evening hours here on tuesday and even for 8:00, 9:00, still a little wet with tomorrow morning, yeah, you guessed it, more of the showers around the area. front is coming in for wednesday. even by noontime, tomorrow we could see some heavier rain and some thunderstorms around the area. for the weekend, theed of the week, in fact, saturday and sunday, we're keeping our eye on this storm. it's leslie. a category 2 hurricane approaching bermuda could lead to some rough surf and some rip currents along the beachers for the weekend. your forecast, next three days looking wet. right now, friday

of showers and thunderstorms up in baltimore and northern sections of baltimore county. that's been a bit of a hotspot this evening. they keep forming storm after storm up there. we have been dry in town. you can see around charlottesville some pretty good rain. this is moving north of 64 now. parts of culpeper county are beginning to get in on the act and again this rain will continue to move up and through. it's not in the metro area now, but i suspect as it holds together, it will at least bring a few showers through here 1:00, 2:00 in the morning. 79 degrees now, 75 for gaithersburg, 82 for quantico. dew points are extremely high and here in town it just jumped up to 74 degrees. 76 for fredericksburg and culpeper the dew point is 75. what we're dealing with here, remnants of isaac and we're still east of what is left of isaac, so we continue with this unsettled pattern, showers, thunderstorms, muggy conditions lingering. it does look like we'll be a little bit drier as we start getting into thursday and friday before more showers and thunderstorms come back into the forecast as we get

louisiana and mississippi. if you're heading out to baltimore to redding to philadelphia, especially here in central new jersey, some really heavy downpours and those are trying to drift up here toward long island. so areas around new york city k during your morning come mute, you may deal with some heavy downpour. then we're dealing with leslie. it is still a tropical storm but it has strengthened a little bit. looks like possibly a category 2 hurricane by saturday. if it does we'll have pretty good upcoming waves and the rip current will be very high along the eastern seaboard. surfers are going to love it but it will be a little dangerous for anyone going to the beaches. showers along the areas. look how hot it is still in texas. we'd like to get rid of those 100s. that's a look at your national forecast. now here's a look at the weather outside your window. today in chicago, 87 degrees. the front is kind of stalling out just to your south. you'll be okay. memphis still very warm at 95. look at oklahoma city, 103. we really haven't gotten any rain in a long time. so the heat in the mid

and there is one right here along i-95 between baltimore and aberdeen and the heaviest of the stuff has been well to the northeast of us and there is that frontal system up there and that is more active. we go to temperatures right now and it's been hot today with the sunshine. we have cooled off a little bit and we're down to 85 degrees. monasses, 84; frederick, 82; dulles, 86. the dew points, we have been talking about them the last few days and they have been up to 70 and beyond. it's just oppressive and this afternoon, we have the dew point here in the city of 74 degrees and that is very muggy out there. everybody that you see in the area here, coming in at least 70 degrees plus with the exception of leonardtown at 68, and that that is what influences the heat index value and feels like lower 90s out there for everybody. so that the 7 degrees difference in the field-like temperature here in the city and more than that in other places out there. fredericksburg and that is feeling like 92 and this is the forecast for this evening. the shower of thunderstorm is possible and not probable in all o
